SUMMARY:Liberty Grove Art Stroll
DESCRIPTION:Door County North\nCommunity & Business Association’s \nInaugural \nLiberty Grove ART Stroll \nDiscover and explore our diverse art scene in Liberty Grove! \n\n\n\nARTISANS \n\n\n\nClay Bay Pottery Gallery – \nCelebrating 50 years on Highway 42! Established in 1976 by David and Jeanne Aurelius\, this beautiful gallery features hand-thrown pottery\, tiles\, jewelry\, paintings\, and original woodcuts. Their unique styles reflect the environment of Door County. Landscapes\, water scenes\, floral motifs\, birds\, and sky adorn their works. They have also created large tile murals in schools. (Open Saturday Only). \nDoor County Ice Cream Factory – \nSuper-Premium Ice Cream that is handcrafted on-site since 1992 using all-natural ingredients\, their recipe features higher butterfat and lower air content for an exceptionally rich\, creamy texture. \nDoor County Wildwood Market – \nThis market is a blend of history and agriculture in a 1940’s building which once housed migrant and WWII prisoners of war.  The farm has been in the family since 1846 and today specializes in small-batch artisan foods including bakery goods and seasonal produce. \nEvy’s Craft Shed – \nOwned by local artist Evy\, the shop serves as a showcase for unique\, one-of-a-kind treasures crafted by Wisconsin and regional artists including beach glass art and jewelry\, beaded jewelry\, one of a kind paintings and children’s craft kits. \nGills Rock Pottery – \nThor and Judy Thoreson live and work in a century old building located in the well-established art community of Ellison Bay. In their gallery one can enjoy the designs on hand thrown pots which are both functional and decorative. Table linens and wooden ware are artfully displayed with the pottery. Outside\, one can enjoy their striking garden pieces. Specializes in hand-thrown stoneware\, created “one of a kind\, one at a time”.  The core collection features beautifully thrown large bowls\, serving platters\, table lamps\, pitchers\, and coffee mugs hand painted with a rich palette of colors. (Open Saturday Only) \nIsland Orchard Cider – \nMade from hand harvested fruits\, this award-winning craft cidery is best known for its dry\, complex\, European-style ciders that are naturally gluten-free\, crisp\, low in tannins\, and highly effervescent. (Open 11 – 6) \nK. Wilder Art Studio – \nHusband-and-wife duo Keven and Nick Wilder’s gallery is highly regarded for bringing a bold\, modernist flair to the traditional northern Door County art scene by showcasing vibrant\, nature-inspired abstract paintings and professional regional photography. \nLynn’s Pottery – \n Lynn utilizes an eclectic\, multi-layered palette using earthy\, matte base glazes that are layered to produce unexpected pools of color and highlighted details within her carved patterns.  Her pieces are crafted balancing everyday utility with deep artistic intent.  The gallery operates out of a beautifully restored century-old storefront. \nRob Williams Fine Art – \nSpecializes in large-scale statement art\, Rob is known for his vibrant semi-abstracted contemporary landscape oil paintings. His paintings are inspired by the dramatic shorelines\, quiet coves\, and dense birch forests of northern Door County capturing the region’s unique light shifts in a loose\, painterly\, and impressionistic style. (Open Saturday Only) \nThe Clearing Folk School – \nThe art produced at The Clearing Folk School is a non-competitive\, deeply personal expression that prioritizes the creative process over the final product. It beautifully blends classical fine arts with heritage folk crafts\, using the surrounding forests and limestone cliffs as immediate inspiration. (Sat: 8:30am – 4pm & Sun: 12pm – 4pm) \nTop Of The Thumb Gift Shop – \nSelf-taught potter and artist\, Mary Nelson creates and exhibits her wheel thrown pottery.  Her work centers on an intuitive\, deeply colorful\, and abstract approach to both two-dimensional art and functional stoneware.   She prefers a world surrounded by rich\, contrasting palettes that bring high energy to raw clay.   \n\n\n\nTurtle Ridge Gallery & Boutique – \nThe fine art of Mary Ellen Sisulak is characterized by a deep connection to nature\, utilizing multi-medium techniques like painting with acrylics directly onto leather sheets and embedding raw\, polished gemstones into her canvases. Her deeply textured encaustic paintings and whimsical etchings are inspired by local shorelines and the adjacent Mink River Nature Conservancy. \n\n\n\n\n\nUncle Tom’s Candy store – \nOperating since 1973\, Uncle Tom’s Candy Store is a beloved Door County tradition specializing in small-batch\, handcrafted sweets. Tucked inside the historic\, preserved 1918 Newport Schoolhouse building\, the shop makes its signature brittles\, chocolate barks\, caramels\, and fudges from scratch using premium ingredients.  \n\n\n\n\n\nMaps will be available at the Welcome Center in Ellison Bay \n\n\ndoorcountynorth.org \n\n\n\n\nJune 13 & 14\, 2026 10 AM to 5 PM
