Come Experience the Northshore of Door County!

Located in Gills Rock

Groups up to 4 people

Captain Brandon Cooper:

I have been chasing salmon on Lake Michigan since 2014, and I couldn’t be more excited to share the experience of catching salmon on The Great Lakes with you. I’m USCG licensed and insured, and will be your fishing and travel guide to the Northshore.

My goal as a charter captain is to not only provide you with the opportunities to catch some of the largest and hardest fighting fish that the Great Lakes has to offer, but to hopefully provide a fun, and memorable experience.

What to Expect:

Trips depart from the Shoreline Resort marina in Gills Rock. Morning trips leave the dock at 4:00 AM— one of the best times to catch salmon is as the sun is rising over the lake. Evening trips depart around 4:00 PM and return at 9:00 PM or at sunset, depending on the time of year.

All skill levels are welcomed from beginners to serious anglers. If you’re a beginner, I will actively direct you and help when needed. If you are a seasoned angler, I’d love to hear about different techniques that you may use when fishing.

For those looking for more time on the water, I also offer 8-hour trips. Customized trips are available based on schedule and availability.

Weather:

I consistently watch weather forecasts before and during our trips to determine what the wind and waves will be like while we are on the lake.

Your safety is my #1 priority and I will have to cancel trips due to adverse weather.

What to Bring:

  • Wisconsin Fishing License & Trout Stamp
    • EACH person needs these. You can purchase online at: gowild.wi.gov
  • Sunscreen
  • Dramamine if you get sea-sickness
  • Sunglasses/ Hat/Proper clothing (it can be much colder on the water)
  • Cooler & Ice (I clean & bag fish on the boat)
  • Soft soled shoes
  • Food / Snacks / Drinks
  • Phone – take lots of pictures
  • Good taste in music (I may let you AUX)

The cuddy cabin is equipped with a toilet for use during the trip.

HISTORY OF DOOR COUNTY NORTH

Liberty Grove, the largest town in Door County, may be divided into three parts. In the southern part of the town is the large and compact “German settlement,” lying between the villages of Ephraim, Sister Bay and Baileys Harbor. In the center, east and northeast of Sister Bay, is a large Swedish settlement with a few Norwegians mixed in…

So begins the 100-year-old description of Liberty Grove and the surrounding region, the township whose economic interests are now represented by the Door County North business association, as stated in Hjalmar R. Holand’s two-volume edition of History of Door County, Wisconsin, The County Beautiful, originally published in 1917.
