Newport State Park First Day HIke

Join Newport State Park in this Wisconsin State Park tradition.
Where: Hikers will set off from Parking Lot 3 at 1:00pm. (Please plan to arrive a little before then.)
The Hike: The 1.2-mile Fern Trail loop (and the recently completed boardwalk) is the focus…with an option to include Lynd Point Trail.Post-hike: Warm up by campfire at the Picnic Shelter (Lot 3); hot chocolate and treats will be available. (Don’t be bashful about bringing treats to share!)
Weather is unpredictable; we may be walking through snow or ice. Wear appropriate winter footwear that may include yaktrax or microspikes; bring hiking poles if you typically use them.
